Jackets head to Starkville

Go Jackets!

Go Jackets!

Tech took care of the Tarheels last week.  Our “simpler is better” defense scheme worked great as we held Carolina to seven points.  Our offense also played well.  I could make an argument that we didn’t score a touchdown at the end of the half due to horrible officiating.  I could also make an argument that we could substantially upgrade our kicking game by opening a phone book to a random page and blindly placing a finger down.

The Jackets travel to Mississippi State this weekend.  We took care of the Bulldogs last season 38-7.  Many will tell you that this MSU team is different than last year, and we should not expect an easy game.  Last week they nearly beat LSU who made a goal line stand at the end of the game.  MSU played well against LSU and poorly against Auburn.  They can run and pass effectively when playing well.  Their defense is respectable, and similar to Tech, they run an option offense.

Prediction: First question…How did the Bulldogs take their loss to LSU?  Emotional moral victory or emotional disappointment considering that they didn’t finish?  Next question: How will they take this loss? (Answerman: Who cares.)    Tech 34-24

Damn Glad!
